LOCAL CHURCH MINISTRIES 2011-12 CURRICULUM: FUTURE EVENTS

2011-12 LCM Modules from Word of Life Canada on Vimeo.

'Future Events' has arrived in a very timely way, considering all that is happening around the world.  What's exciting about these modules is that the student is taught eschatology, but from a practical perspective.  So, even though the doctrine of the Rapture is introduced and discussed, students also learn the importance of living your life in a God honouring way as we wait for the Rapture to occur.

Our 2011-12 theme for our Student curriculum is 'FUTURE EVENTS'.  This exciting new series is going to help junior high and high school students realize that we're living in the last days, and that we have a responsibility to be wise stewards of the time we have left.  'Future Events' is designed in such a way to facilitate group discussions, focus young minds on the importance of Bible prophecy, and emphasize the need to tell friends about Christ.  Each 4 week module (below) is packed full of Bible truth and teen application....

REARVIEW

In 'REARVIEW' Students will learn why biblical prophecy is reliable and important and how it should affect the way they live their lives. Students will gain a panoramic picture of God’s plan for the future and where they fit into that plan. Students will learn what Christ says to the churches of Revelation Chapter 2 and how to apply those principles to their lives today. Also, they will learn what Christ says to the churches of Revelation Chapter 3 and how to apply those principles to their lives today.

comebackIn 'COMEBACK' students will realize the pressures from society to be tolerant of, and even participate in, the lifestyles of the world and how to confront their Christian friends who submit to that pressure. Students will realize there are religious leaders who deny the truths of the Word of God and will seek to lead them away from living a life that glorifies God.  Students will learn about Christ’s return to take His church to Heaven and what His return should mean to them. Students will understand that they must be ready for the Rapture by knowing Jesus Christ as their Savior, by growing in their knowledge of the Word of God,and by showing the truths of the Word to others through their words and actions.

peace

In 'PEACE ON EARTH', students will learn about the major persons who are active during the Tribulation period and realize that God wants to use them as witnesses to the world. Students will learn about the major events that occur during the Tribulation period and the power and deceptiveness of their enemy, Satan. Students will see that many believers were and are persecuted and even killed for their faith and will have a greater appreciation for their freedom to worship. Students will gain a better understanding of the three sets of judgments God will inflict on the earth and its population during the Tribulation and the importance of sharing the Gospel with others.

In 'THE GREAT GIVEAWAY', students will understand that the judgment seat of GIVEAWAYChrist is where He will determine the worth or worthlessness of the works done by each believer during their life on earth. Students will learn that believers may receive crowns at the Judgment Seat of Christ, which they will use to lay at His feet in worship of Him. Students will understand that when they trusted Christ as their Savior, they became part of His bride whom He will marry in Heaven; they should love Him as a bride loves her groom. Students will learn that everyone will be resurrected from the dead and must prepare today for that future event.

checkmateIn 'CHECKMATE', students will learn about the events which will occur at the Second Coming of Christ and how they will take part in those events. Students will learn about the future thousand-year earthly reign of Christ and that their position in His reign will depend upon their faithfulness to Him today. Students will realize that the inner sinful nature with which everyone is born, will prevail even in a perfect environment, unless they put their trust in Christ as their Saviour. Students will understand what the great white throne judgment is, who will be there, what the sentences will be, and how they should respond to this knowledge. gameover

In 'GAME OVER', students will learn the difference between Hell and the lake of fire and that the horror of eternal separation from God requires an evangelistic lifestyle on their part. Students will get a glimpse of the place where believers will spend eternity with Jesus Christ, other believers of all ages, angels, and God Himself. Students will learn that nothing of this world has eternal value and that they lay up treasures in Heaven by using their gifts, abilities, and time to bring others to Christ. Students will review and reflect on what they have learned about future events and determine to live their lives in anticipation of Christ’s final words.

lionsIn 'STANDING WITH LIONS', students will be challenged through the example of Daniel to remain committed to biblical principles instead of conforming to the standards of the world. Students will see how God can use a righteous young person who is willing to use their God-given talents to bring glory to Him. Students will learn that although God is longsuffering, judgment will come to those who live contrary to His will and principles. Students will learn that rather than compromise their principles in order to succeed, they can trust God no matter what the situation.
