Recharge Weekend #3-

God is working in awesome ways!

Our third weekend of 'Recharge' here in Ontario wrapped up on Sunday.  We were visited by 4 churches across southern Ontario with many students who had never been to a Word of Life event before.  For many of these youth leaders this was also their first time at Word of Life. We saw God work in every session throughout the weekend - and it was awesome to see our Bible Institute students serving and focusing on others as the weekend progressed.

DECISIONS MADE FOR CHRIST

On our 'Recharge' weekends we do a general session on Friday nights that begins to prep the students for what the weekend will bring.  On Saturday mornings we do a split session (guy/girl) on purity/security in Christ issues.  On Saturday nights we do 2 sessions: the first one is a drama that depicts a young person going through all the right "Christian" motions, but with no relationship with Christ...our 2nd session is topically related to an issue we believe the kids need to hear about (from a Biblical perspective).  Finally, on Sunday morning, we ask the Christian students to live a surrendered life to Christ after the pattern of Romans 12:1.  

We were excited to have with us this weekend our Associate Dean of Students at our Word of Life Bible Institute Ontario Teaching Site, Mr. Jon Ward (to read more about Jon and Melissa's ministry, click here).  Jon is also our Bible Survey teacher and a gifted communicator.  Jon and Melissa are a valuable part of our missionary family here at Word of Life Canada.

This weekend we saw at least 3 students accept Christ, many young men stood to say they would live a life of purity, and 11 students stood in front of their peers to say they would live a life of commitment to Christ.  Praise the Lord!

HOW YOU CAN PRAY

We have 4 more weekends of intense ministry.  Our students have classes through the week and 'Recharge' ministry on the weekend.  You can imagine that could present some priority dilemmas for a young college student.  So this week please pray with us in the following areas:

• For Bible Institute students to learn the valuable lesson of prioritizing friendships, schoolwork and ministry.
• For our full-time staff involved in Recharge - for strength and focus on the task.
• For our 'Recharge' program: with very little snow in Owen Sound we need to get very creative.  Please pray that God will give us that creativity.
