Word of Life (“WOL”) is committed to protecting your privacy and the confidentiality of your personal information. Any personally identifiable information about you is considered “Personal Information” and will be treated in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

 

We collect some basic information when you visit our website. This information is not personally identifiable, but rather is anonymous information about when you visited this site, which pages you viewed, and how you long spent on each page. We use this information to help provide a better website experience to our visitors and to analyze how our website is being used, which pages are receiving traffic, and for website security purposes. Some of this information is stored in the server logs of our webserver, however most is collected by and held by Google Analytics and we simply access the data to improve our website.

We use cookies on our website for a few basic purposes such as Google Analytics, WordPress analytics, tracking your shopping cart on our store, and if you have created an account, we use cookies to help keep you logged in when you return to the site and to remember your preferences. These cookies are standard to WordPress websites with WooCommerce. No personally identifiable information is stored in cookies.  

Identified Purposes

WOL will only collect, use and disclose Personal Information for its own purposes:

Employee, Bible Institute student, Camper, Website Purchase and Friends and/or Donor personal information is collected:

  • As required by government to process government forms
  • To be able to interview the potential staff member, BI student or camper
  • To be able to inform guests/parents/guardians/supervisors about the staff member, BI student or camper that will be interacting with the guest during their stay at WOL
  • When you purchase something from our website, as part of the buying and selling process
  • When you fill out an online application, registration or contact form on this website  

Camper personal information is collected:

  • To be able to communicate with the parent/guardian about the camper’s stay at Word of Life camp
  • To be able to process payments
  • To be able to serve the campers needs before, during and after their stay, including health information
  • To be able to communicate with the camper during and after their term at WOL
  • To send follow up information about WOL
  • For promotional purposes

 

Bible Institute student personal information is collected: 

  • To be able to communicate with the parent/guardian about the students stay at Word of Life Bible Institute
  • To be able to process payments
  • To be able to serve the students’ needs before, during and after their stay, including health information
  • To be able to communicate with the Bible Institute student during and after their term at WOL
  • To send follow up information about WOL
  • For promotional purposes

 

Friends and/or donors of WOL personal information is collected:

  • To be able to communicate with you about the ministry of WOL
  • To provide you with opportunities to be involved and support WOL for promotional purposes
  • To process your donation, whether it’s a one-time gift or a monthly gift, and to issue you a tax receipt for the donation

Website Store Information:

When you purchase an item in our online store, we collect the personal information you give us such as your name, address and email address. This information is used only for the purpose of billing, shipping and fullfilling your order with us and will never be used for any other reason without prior consent from you. We will use the email address you provided to send updates related to your order.  

With your permission, we may send you emails about our store, new products and other updates.

All payments on our website are collected and processed via third-party payment processors who are fully PCI-DSS compliant, namely PayPal and Stripe. We do not collect, maintain, or store customer credit card information on our own servers. 

 

Website Application and Contact Forms

When you fill out an application or contact form on this website, you consent to us collecting the information you submit to us. Any information submitted will be used for its intended purpose and protected in accordance with this Policy. This includes contact forms, camper and event registration forms, donation forms, pre-authorized debit forms, and any other form on our website.

In general, the third-party providers used by us will only collect, use and disclose your information to the extent necessary to allow them to perform the services they provide to us.

However, certain third-party service providers, such as payment gateways and other payment transaction processors, have their own privacy policies in respect to the information we are required to provide to them for your purchase-related transactions.

For these providers, we recommend that you read their privacy policies so you can understand the manner in which your personal information will be handled by these providers.

Once you leave our website or are redirected to a third-party website or application, you are no longer governed by this Privacy Policy.

When you click on links on our store, they may direct you away from our site. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of other sites and encourage you to read their privacy statements.

WOL will only collect, use, or disclose personal information that is necessary for the Identified Purposes or as required by law. If we require personal information for any other purpose, you will be notified of the new purpose and subject to your consent, that new purpose will become an Identified Purpose. WOL will maintain your personal information as accurate, complete, and up to date as is necessary for the Identified Purposes.

WOL will protect your Personal information by security safeguards such as passwords and locked filing cabinets appropriate to the sensitivity of the information. Safeguards will vary depending on the sensitivity, format, location, and storage of the Personal Information.
